The fashion industry is a major contributor to pollution and waste in our environment.

Spurred on by changes in consumer consumption pattern to a less is more approach  and our demand for more transparency around sustainable production processes, the fashion industry is looking to technology to help them solve real world problems of today and the future.

In this episode I speak with Nina Nikolic of TAAS Inc. She shares how she is using 3D technology in her business of digital pattern making and virtual fit sampling processes.  New technology is helping brands to significantly speed up the clothing development cycle and reduce waste by creating accurate prototypes in a virtual setting with no need for physical samples.

Change can be slow in a traditional industry where touching, seeing and feeling the product has been at the heart of the garment development process since its inception.  Nina is leading the way to educate brands on the broader issues driving the need for change and helping experts and artisans to utilize their skills and knowledge as a complement to technology leading to more efficient, cost effective, sustainable and even more innovative fashion solutions.
